After the trailer was released last week, Dave promised to follow up with something every Friday until the Red Dwarf X starts airing. Ever a channel of their word, this week’s offering is Robert giving a sort of in-character message to fans, and it’s lovely.
It seems to have been shot in part of the corridor section, probably round the back of the two standing sets. The corridor area where this appears to have been shot runs as a sort of T junction, with the middle section separating the bunk room and the drive room and top part running along the back of both*.
It’s a very nice mix of in-character chat (something Robert always excels at, as anyone who’ve seen him address the audience during a filming would attest to) bookended with out of character nattering, which I’m glad they left in. It gives the impression of a very busy set, with only small opportunities to shoot silly promotional videos.
I have nothing much else to say about the mask, other than it looks absolutely fine in this video. I have no idea what’s going on with it, frankly, it seems to morph from one thing to another every time I see it.
* All of this is me making assumptions based on what I’ve seen so if I’m wrong, I’m really very sorry indeed.

Nothing I’ve moaned about lately – Kryten’s nose, neck or hoops – looks bad at all in this vid. I suspect it’s all to do with camera angles. :)
A nice bit of fun on an otherwise fairly shit day.
