*2* series?!
Bobby was tweeting today about there being big news, but said he wasn’t able to say anything more. I assumed it was Carpool related.
Transcripting the relevant bit from around 1:21:15;
“…the Smegheads are a thing from… em…, it’s from the Red Dwarf days, isn’t it? Which I can now announce - we’re going to be doing two more series of it. Starting in January next year.”
[Production guy, muffled since he clearly doesn’t have a mic, asks something like “Is that like a proper exclusive?”]
“That is an exclusive mate! What d’y’think?”
[Production guy: “That’s pretty impressive.”]
“Gone a bit nervous.”
[Pg: “Were you meant… are you allowed to say that?]
“Emmm… no. But I got the call today and it said ‘Craig, can you do it in January?’ I said ‘Yeah, I’ll sort it out.’ So I will be able to do it in January and… emm… I’m a bit nervous though - I don’t know if I’ll be able to fit into leather trousers anymore.”
Ah, CC and his impulse control. Or lack thereof.
I can’t believe I actually cheered out loud then :)
Feels like 2009 all over again! thanks for the heads up, wouldn’t usuallly listen to this. any one know of any way we can save this, feels like something worthy of vault!
There are iPlayer downloaders that exist. Just do a search on google and you’ll find several. I use one for radio shows that will never be released on CD.
cheers for the heads up on those, just found one.
I wonder if we’re talking about two full 6-episode series filmed back-to-back from January (to make it easier considering the schedules of those involved)? Or if we’re talking two mini-series a la BTE, but shown together to make up a full six episode run? Or two completely seperate new seasons with the first one filming in January??
Ahhhh, let the speculation begin eh?
THANK YOU, EVERYONE. I’m now diverting you to this, if that’s ok:
