Good news, everyone!

Good old Phil Reed, of this parish, has sent us this hilariously titled article: Futurama Echoes. (Well, actually, he sent it about two months ago, but, you know.) It’s a comparison between the two shoes, showing up a few similarities. In Phil’s words:

I’m a major fan of both shows… Dwarf being one of my favorite British shows and Futurama being one of my favorite American shows. (A lot less competition for the “favorite American show” title than there is for the “British show” title, trust me…)

I don’t think it’s a ripoff in any respect. What I DO suspect is that at least one of the creative minds behind Futurama is a closet Dwarfer…and that’s what the article examines, by means of a few dozen episode-specific examples.
