This weekend, me and my darling girlfriend are popping over to the National Museum of Film, Photography and Television as celebration of the fact that she’s going to be in CUNTING INDIA FOR THREE MONTHS ON MY BIRTHDAY. Part of the museum is TV Heaven, where you can see over 900 proggies, many of them very rare, in special viewing booths. I’ve been before, and it’s this: excellent.

They’re the full programmes too, so you get to see the VT Clocks at the beginning. And out of these 900 programmes, which do I want to see this time? Hardwicke House, the Central Comprehensive school sitcom dropped after two episodes due to idiotic complaints? The Kenny Everett Video Show, ep one? Q6? Spitting Image Election Special, complete with actual studio audience? Or the controversial Casualty episode Boiling Point?

No, I really want to see the Red Dwarf ep Me2, because of the VT clock at the beginning.

I mean, Jesus Cunting Christ on a stick.

  • You know, I’m trying to remember if we got a VT clock on those post production copies of Dwarf episodes we won at DJ…

And no, I can;t be arsed going to check.

  • I saw some last time I went – they did have VT clocks on. At least, the stuff I saw did. It probably varies from programme to programme.

Of course, the stuff we were given at DJ was the cleaned-up version for the DVDs (confusingly called the re-mastered…) – so the VT clocks were new ones, stating that. I want to see GENUINE R@RE 1987 VT DWARD CL@CKS.

  • Just grabbed a copy of that Spitting Image episode online, might have to get round to watching it at some point.
