Danny’s New Site: Not Launched News Posted by John Hoare on 10th February 2006, 00:44 *wakes up like the proverbial dormouse* So, news. Oddly enough, I was wondering the other day whether Danny John-Jules was ever going to get a website. As if by magic, dannyjohn-jules.com has appeared – not launched yet, but fill your details in, and they’ll mail you as soon as it’s ready. In the additional comments bit, I did ask for “A website that conforms to web standards”, but looking at that markup I think we’d be more likely to get images of Danny performing a sexual act on a goat. Or maybe that’s just my fantasy. Come on Craig, get your arse in gear. The other boys will laugh at you.
So is Craig Charles officially out of the running now? I see his site is one of those fake search engine adbot things. It’s really strange, since it’s been redesigned a number of times before he finally gave up. Almost like he REALLY wanted a web presence at one point. Wha happen?
dannyjohn-jules.com is currently showing a 404 error. It had the holding page on it a week or so ago. This is either a good thing (imminent launch) – or a bad thing (it’s gone AWOL).

Or maybe that’s just my fantasy. When I filled in that form, I begged him not to use any Flash on his site, on account of it usually makes that site suck quite horribly. But like you, I have my doubts as to whether this will happen… Also: If that represents your fantasies, then your fantasies quite frankly disturb me, sir.
> When I filled in that form, I begged him not to use any Flash on his site, on account of it usually makes that site suck ass. I think it’s actually impossible to make you any better, Arlene.
Wow, now I’m sorry I edited it. Incidentally, that article I’m waiting on my friend for is about the official cast websites–I’d hoped to do it before DJJ’s site was launched, and it looks like that might yet end up happening **sigh**… Incidentally, why’s this not showing up in either “At Speed” or “In Depth”? It’s only in the Recent Comments column for me.

Oh soddammit. Are we ever going to see this site? Sometimes I fantasize about a group of Red Dwarf fans just quietly putting together a wonderful, informative, elegant, quick-loading site for a cast member who doesn’t have one, under their name.com–and then, when we inevitably hear from them (and/or their lawyers), just giving it to them, as long as they promised not to cover the site in Flash and to update it regularly. A sort of “adoption program” for websites, as it were =P –altho’ I well understand that it would be unrealistic **sigh** .
>Sometimes I fantasize about a group of Red Dwarf fans I honestly never expected to hear that phrase from anybody.
> Okay, be honest. Have any of you actually read past that first line in my last post? *stares at his feet* No…
Considering Danny put up a Myspace page, does anyone else suspect he may well have given up on a stand-alone website of his own?
It wouldn’t surprise me, actually. But if that’s the case, the least he (or whoever takes care of this sort of thing) could set up his domain to point to it! I’d bet there are plenty of people who aren’t actually aware of his (or Robert’s) MySpaces…
Speaking of cast websites, I went over to Llew’s forum (Llewtube, and I think he might be doing something with his. I quote: “Believe it or not I am feverishly busy building a new site. I have never known this siote[sic] so dormant and sleepy, it’s hybernating[also sic] at the moment, but believe me, spring is coming. There will be much more in evidence very soon.” So? Shall we all go over and beg him to use less Flash? Or am I being too hasty? I must stress that this may not be actual news, as yet–I may be jumping the gun a bit.
We probably all should, shouldn’t we? His old site was lovely to use. His latest… well, I don’t go on it. It’s awful.
