I shall regret for the rest of my life saying there’ll be no more roundup-type-things. Forget my error in thinking that the best way to get a woman off was by seeing how many of my fingers I could get inside her – this is the real embarrassment. But onwards to what TOS updated with last Friday, and let’s try to forget my red face. And sticky fingers.

BEAT THE GEEK: Some more info, there. But frankly, I don’t give a fuck about that article – the real news was the demonstration at DJ this year. Yeah, it all looks nice, and it all fits together well, blah blah blah – but the important thing is, it’s funny. A killer gag (and delivery) in the ‘How to Play’ section sets the tone, but it all just works. Have a music question? Then there’s Holly on-screen, listening to it. It’s hilarious, and I can imagine hoots of laughter across the land on Christmas Day. The whole thing has been put together with so much love and attention – it should be winning industry awards for proving what you can do with DVD games. It’s just fabulous. And it’s new Dwarf.

BTL 51: Given to club members at DJ, with the rest being packaged up this coming weekend and sent out shortly. I will say three things:

a) The new logo (designed by Mick) looks great.
b) Jonathan Capps’ article was credited to Ian Symes. An article he had published in a previous issue ago was credited to ‘Ian Capps’. This is just shit.
c) It’s the last issue before the relaunch of the ‘zine. Let’s hope the relaunch sorts out all the current problems with it – of which there are many, but I won’t bother going into. This weekend saw a huge leap in the quality of Dimension Jump – it was absolutely fantastic. Let’s hope the same happens with BTL52.

MASSIVE ENGINES DVD: We mentioned it a while back, and now Massive Engines has come to DVD – in fact, it was released yesterday. We’ll have a review for you within the next week or so. And the weird thing is, that’s now something people might actually believe.

And finally – you may have noticed that the last few comments on our ‘The only survivors…’ article are missing, along with the comments form and the right-hand navbar. This is an issue which is getting looked into as I write, so hopefully it should be sorted pretty soon – as there was rather a productive conversation going…

For those of you waiting for news from DJ rather than reheated TOS articles – it’s coming soon!

  • Dude your website has got viruses which are trying to cause buffer over-flows! Just thought someone should let ya know.

No, I have nothing to say, I was just drawing additional attention to this shameful fact.

  • DJ was utterly fabulous. I’ll be attempting to add my thoughts at some point when my hangover finally buggers off.

Regarding Beat the Geek tho it did look fantastic but Hattie’s wig is a bloody disgrace. It makes her look like a pensioner whereas the general concensus at DJ seemed to be. You would wouldn’t you.

The thought occurs to me that I could make a killing around here by selling Kleenex.

Not to John. And you don’t want to know why.

  • > Don’t tell me he’s still using that sock…

Andrew, if you knew, you’d *wish* it was a sock…

  • Sorry about the continued problems with the comments on the ‘Survivors’ article everyone. Should be sorted soon…
