Geek Chase open to all… News Posted by Seb Patrick on 16th February 2007, 13:01 Now that the competition part is over, GNP have done the decent thing and opened up Geek Chase for anyone to play. So if you haven’t done so already, get cracking – it’s bloody fantastic, and will keep you occupied for hours. And since the competition’s finished, if you’re getting stuck, expect the G&T walkthrough very soon!
Maybe not, but I’d say there was plenty to enjoy even without the ?5000. I especially like the joke about Boing! on one of the sites, which I think is better than the one in Pete itself…
I?d say there was plenty to enjoy even without the ?5000. True dat. The attention to detail is marvellous – and there are lots of great gags littered throughout. Excellent use is made of various bits of rarely-seen artwork, and quite aside from being a difficult and compelling puzzle, the sites themselves are almost all (aside from a couple of “under construction” ones) well fleshed out, filled with loads of text content that isn’t actually relevant to the game (but which, if you’re playing the game, you need to read all of in order to filter out the useful from the diversionary!) I’ll refrain from further comment for now, ‘cos I’m already using up stuff I was going to say in a fuller piece about it!
“They may be *a* Doctor, but I’m *the* Doctor, the definate article, you might say.” Note to self: reduce next dosage.
I was really impressed by how imaginative and funny the whole game was. I wonder if future quizzes at DJ might include some of the new lore.
“I was really impressed by how imaginative and funny the whole game was. I wonder if future quizzes at DJ might include some of the new lore.” I’d be tempted to ask whether Geek Chase was canon, but then I’d have to STAB MYSELF IN THE HEAD AND FACE.
