Six Days of Dwarfmas News Posted by Jonathan Capps on 12th December 2007, 22:52 After a frankly absurd absence of four years from the BBC Two schedules, Red Dwarf is finally to be repeated to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour! Truly, this is a Christmas miracle. Thanks to thomasevans on the forum for first bringing to our attention the following dates: Christmas Eve Nite @ 12.40 Boxing Day Nite @ 12.25 Thursday 27th @ 12.20 Friday 28th @ 12.50 Saturday 29th @ 12.30 Sunday 30th @ 12.10 The Radio Times website confirms the first date (with more to come as they update daily), and indeed it also confirms that this will be a repeat of Series 1. Here’s hoping that this will continue into ’08 with a full repeat of all 52 episodes. Now, if only they could just repeat it at a fucking reasonable time, then we might just be getting somewhere. Dave might be a laddish bag of shite at times, but at least it knows how to schedule Dwarf properly.
Ah! It all makes sense now, the BBC are no longer interested in the audience Red Dwarf used to attract because it thinks we’re all vampires
> Ah! It all makes sense now, the BBC are no longer interested in the audience Red Dwarf used to attract because it thinks we?re all vampires You mean to say the rest of you guys aren’t?
On the 12th day of Dwarfmas, a Smeg Head sent to me 12 Flibbles hexing 11 Skutters mending 10 Gelfs a shooting 9 Psirens slurping 8 Series so far 7 Toasters toasting 6 Cans of lager 5 Bla-aaaack Hooooooles! 4 Dwarf crew 3 Spare heads 2 Polymorphs And a showing on late night TV.
Horaah! This shows how much I READ the christmas tv guide. And yes… we are vampires. It is funny though is’nt it. All this fuss about Red Dwarf online and on POV, and then It’s back on BBC Two. Someone’s listening Ladies and Gentlemen. Albeit, the time is taking the piss. You just know they will be followed by: “And a new Red Dwarf DVD collection of the first three series, digitally re-mastered, is now available on BBC & 2Entertain DVD”. SOMEBODY be excited for the Gerry Anderson Night on BBC FOUR!
> Ah! It all makes sense now, the BBC are no longer interested in the audience Red Dwarf used to attract because it thinks we?re all vampires Well there is a vampire on the show. And all these weirdos like Kryten, robots, space age gizmos and whatnot. A guy with a cross on his forehead and is in the army or something (I shit you not that’s how someone described Rimmer to me once). A comedy…in space! I mean, woah, hang on just one second or two. Who in the name of ruddy hell it’s Harry and Paul is gonna watch that? No-one but sci-fi freaks of nature with heavily-sideburned testicles growing out of their cheeks and the entire original Marvel Star Wars series issues 1-107 (plus the three annuals) lasered into their retinas and Trek TOS communicator dildos they use to milk their prostrates whilst watching Androids of Tara pt. 3. That’s why Dwarf won’t return.
Well the last round of repeats was Christmas ’03, which I think extended into ’04. So, yeah, near enough 4 years.
> Well the last round of repeats was Christmas ?03, which I think extended into ?04. So, yeah, near enough 4 years Well that went fast.
Something like “…but first time for Red Dwarf, series 1, episode 1”. It was good and, more importantly, RECORDED.
According to the Sky EPG (I don’t know if Sky or the Beeb are responsible for the text, mind), Future Echoes is “a comic adventure with Lister and crew mates Rimmer, Cat and Kryten aboard the Starbug”. O WELL DONE. Also, they include “Adult humour” in the blurb. For some reason.
In fact, I nearly sat there and watched the whole thing, just for the novelty of seeing Dwarf on BBC2… but then realised that earlier today I’d started watching Remastered with Andrew’s text track, and FE was the next one up ;-)
>Also, they include ?Adult humour? in the blurb. For some reason Did you miss the notorious Kryten groinal socket bleep job scene?
They did after the credits of Confidence & Paranoia were done, which is the only one I saw on transmission. But remember kids, 80% of those watching turn when the credits start… ;)
