Bags, Biscuits & Alginate News Posted by Jonathan Capps on 19th December 2008, 13:04 Quick update just so we have *something* going on on the front page. First things first, TOS has a more detailed account of Robert’s recent face casting for the new Kryten mask. Good news: Andrea Finch and Howard Burden are CONFIRMED crew members. Interesting news: who are these Animated Extras newbies? Who votes we steal their lunch money and beat them up? In other news, this is the last time I ever buy a DVD from Norman Lovett, the double dipping, miserable bastard. And that is literally it. Please do excuse the slowness of things round here at the moment, but we’ll be all set and ready to go MENTAL as soon as everything starts kicking off in January. In addition to the incoming Specials we still have a crap load of magazine scans to add and, excitingly, episodes of old Grant Naylor radio sit-com Wally Who? Look forward to that or DIE, frankly.
>First things first, TOS has a more detailed account of Robert?s recent face casting for the new Kryten mask. Yeah. Interesting little artical there. Not sure how I would cope with that. I remember putting on a rubber Darth Maul mask once (I say mask, it goes all over your head, so I’m not sure of the correct term) and I found it hard to breath. I had to take it off after a few seconds. I don’t think I suffer from claustrophobia, (If anything I like small enclosed spaces. Oo-er.) but for a short while there I could imagine something of what a sufferer might feel. Imagine having your face covered in gloop for hours… >In other news, this is the last time I ever buy a DVD from Norman Lovett, the double dipping, miserable bastard. Heh. From what I’ve read, I’m not sure the new version would be worth it. For all the sparkles and bangles they’ve added they appear to have actually shortened his routine. (Unless it was a lot of meandering boring stuff maybe, but again, that’s all subjective isn’t it?) As a marketing strategy for first-time buyers it might work, but I’m doubtful. He isn’t really all that well known compared to other comedians is he? (Don’t get me wrong, I quite like they guy.) I.e. only fans would go for it and they’d buy it regardless of the package.
>Good news: Andrea Finch and Howard Goodall are CONFIRMED crew members I think you mean Howard Burden, you cock tease. >Norman Lovett, the double dipping, miserable bastard. This might be the only double dip I’ve ever seen in which the prime selling point is that the feature doesn’t last as long as it did originally.
>This might be the only double dip I?ve ever seen in which the prime selling point is that the feature doesn?t last as long as it did originally. Do you reckon they’ll re-release it again as a blank disc?
> I remember putting on a rubber Darth Maul mask once (I say mask, it goes all over your head I used to have that mask! I nearly got locked up one Halloween when I walked into Tesco with it on and a black hood over. I also had the Maul double lightsaber on me (not the really good one that costs around ?120, the crappy one). It IS pretty suffocating wearing it, especially if you tuck it into your shirt properly, and also with a hood over, all you’re breathing in is rubber fumes! You can hardly see anything either as the mask’s so bulky. Btw it’s great to see some old Dwarf crew faces appearing! Andrea Finch obviously being able to do it seeing as there’s no Harry Potter shooting at the moment (if she’s still involved with them. I know she did Order of the Phoenix).
>I used to have that mask! I was just trying it on in a fancy dress shop. I opted for a top hat and eye mask in the end. (It was for a work party long ago in days of yore when I was employed.)
Finally some news to make this Xmas exciting! it’s great to see ‘old bob can still make the simple task of removing a mold fun, gotta love that reaction!
Did anyone else see the heading ‘Casting Call’ and think it was going to be a confirmation of everyone who is signed up for the project? No, probably not…
>Did anyone else see the heading ?Casting Call? and think it was going to be a confirmation of everyone who is signed up for the project? I was hoping.
