With the conversion of the mid-90s Smeg Ups and Smeg Outs VHS releases on UMD and DVD format, a number of cuts were made to remove competition information and update the merchandise details. For the sake of completeness and cuntery, this is the collection of the original clips unmodified. Review of the Just the Smegs release and details of the cuts can be found here. Smeg Ups Merchandise(AVI – 4.50MB) 1994 The original merchandise info as presented by Kryten in the ‘Ten Most Asked Questions about Red Dwarf’ segment. This was changed to replace the postal addresses with information about the official site, complete with new voice over and images. Competition(AVI – 4.94MB) 1994 The entire link describing the competition and giving out the questions. In a second version of the VHS edition this was removed along with the smeg up that followed. The UMD and DVD versions reinstated this Smeg Up, but still left the competition information out. Both are included here. Smeg Outs Merchandise(AVI – 3.57MB) 1995 The original merchandise info as presented by Kryten in the ‘Ten Most Asked Questions about Red Dwarf’ segment. This was changed to replace the postal addresses with information about the official site, complete with new voice over and images. Competition(AVI – 7.89MB) 1995 This section with Kryten and Spare Head 3 was mostly cut from the UMD and DVD release. The entirety of the link, with details on the competition, the questions and information about the winner from last video are included here, complete with some great Spare Head 3 gags. Post-Credits(AVI – 7.74MB) 1995 A collection of slides shown after the credits had rolled detailing important addresses, and re-capping the competition information.
