A couple of Red Dwarf links in early 90s TV

So last night me and a couple of mates, via Zoom, were watching some old early 90s Christmas TV and a couple of things jumped out at me as “that’s like in Red Dwarf that is”.

First, in the Christmas episode of Noel’s House Party in 1993, the “Gotcha” segment is captioned with BIG RED BOLD srolling text ala series 4 and 5 episode titles Red Dwarf.

at 7mins 56seconds if it doesn’t link to the time stamp.

And then in a TOTP Christmas episode (can’t remember the year) Marti Pellow of Wet Wet Wet is basically wearing Cat’s tarten suit from series 5

So are we to take from this that Cat is a Time Lord who spent two generations as different 80s pop stars?

That would explain the TARDIS in the landing bay.
