Is there any free service or utility way to find out how long a particular website has been online? Some kind of resource to find a month/year of activation or anything?

And no snippy “if only google had a search box!” answers…I don’t want an engine to compile me a list of 600,000,000,000,000 options…I want to know something that somebody himself/herself has used and used successfully.

Thanks in advance; this is for a noble cause.

You could try the web archive to get a vague idea, but I can’t think of a specific site that details this type of stuff.

Web archive had nothing…that was one of the few tools I’m aware of.

It’s possible the site in question is very young (as in under a year)–in which case WayBack might not be able to help–but, for all I know, it’s equally possible that it’s been around for half a decade.

What’s the site? Somebody here may happen to know the answer.

I can guarantee it’s not a site anyone here will have pre-existing knowledge of. But if somebody who hangs around has faith in their ability to research such a thing, let me know and I’ll PM you the URL.
