So i got to get to Birmingham some time during Friday. I’m just checking flights here…

    1)

    Berlin to Birmingham Int. LUFTHANSA
    Duration 3.5 hrs
Via Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Zurich or Brussels
    EUR 410.63

    2)

    Berlin to Birmingham Int. RYANAIR
Duration between 6 hrs and a stay over night
    Via Sweden, Ireland or Scotland
    EUR 116,36

    3)

Sod BHX, I’m going to EMA instead. Ryanair conveniently goes between Berlin SXF and EMA for 60,86.

However, I have the choice of:
    – arriving on Friday at 10:55 PM, and I’d still have to get to Birmingham by train (and I remember finding & booking UK traing tickets to be impossibly difficult for me), and missing out on the Friday fun or
    – arriving on Wednesday at 10 AM already, affording two more hotel nights, and bumming around in Nottingham. Maybe I could spend a day in Sheffield with friends, if they don’t have to work, that is.

    Decisions, decision.

    Any other ideas? :\

    I’m in Sheffield! I don’t work! Ever!

I’ll be catching a coach to Brum Thursday morning (?26 return!). Haven’t sorted out the Hotel yet – I’ve emailed but heard nothing yet. If I hear nothing tomorrow, I’ll phone them on Tuesday (I don’t trust that website)…

Karl lives in Nottingham – maybe he can suggest something?

Hm hm hm. I didn’t go on proper holiday this year yet, maybe it would be smart to plan for some more time in the UK, if only to get to fly for cheap, and see some friends I haven’t seen in ages :) You too Si!

I can give a couple of people a lift from Merseyside/Wirral, but I’m unlikely to leave before 4pm on the Friday.

You definitely shouldn’t miss Friday night – train from Nottingham to Brum takes about an hour, and besides which, if you hang around in Nottingham at that time of night you’re liable to get shot.

That sounds like a challenge to me!

Marleen, I think you can travel between Nottingham and London fairly cheaply on the coach, and we can always book tickets for you if necessary…

Yeah, you definitely need to come down to London, Marleen. There’s LOADS of us down here. We’ll show you a good time. You may not get to experience it yourself, but we’ll show you one.

Yes, it was specifically scheduled by the fan club so that you wouldn’t be able to make it.

Oh, no, wait, that was Paul.

I live in Rotherham too. Small World.

Also, I’m a Travel Agent…I can check flights for you tomorrow if you’d like Marleen.

    Oh, that’s nice of you!

But you know, I’m really thinking about going for a few more days which would make travelling a lot easier (going via London for cheap, and stuff) so don’t worry for now!

You can get a train from London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street (10 mins walk from hotel, at most) for ?15 return. Bam.

Smeg4Brains – You live in Rotherham? You should go to Snafu in the town center then. There’s some lovely Red Dwarf related bits up on the wall… ;)

Snafu is indeed an awesome bar in Sheffield.

I’ve been in the SNAFU a few times, never noticed anything Dwarfy though.
