I hear this too, though less so in his most recent work. There is a notable Beatles influence as early as his Bonzo days; just listen to “I Want to Be With You” from “Keynsham.”

Also, I highly recommend his moving tribute to George Harrison, “Friends at the End” from “Works in Progress.” There’s no good video on YouTube, but the whole album is wonderful, so just buy it. You won’t regret it.

Finally, there’s this petition to get “Innes Book of Records” back on tv.

If it makes you feel better, Danny, I just assumed you were talking about the Beatlyness of his Rutles work influencing his non-Rutles stuff. :) Which it probably did in the case of the Raggy Dolls theme.
