Andy Davidson, creator of classic 90s videogame franchise Worms, is evidently a Red Dwarf fan.

My custom levels on Worms DC were less impressive. I think you could just draw any picture on a paint program and load it in to see how unplayable it is.

Yeah I used to load in all sorts of random images to see if I could play them. Mostly they didn’t work that well.

I also replaced all the sound effects and voice files with my own recordings of all sorts of random music and sounds.

What a cool kid I was.

You could do that in Armageddon, I believe. Me and my mates would put in random map numbers and one of them gave us this rather strange delight. It’s crazy because you’ll get something clearly made in 1997 immediately followed by something made in 2018.

I did that too, I think you could download various themed wav file packs to replace the sounds with of which my favourite was one using lines from one of the Bottom Live shows. Always enjoyed a worm’s energy depleting to Richie going ‘who’d be me?’ and the reply ‘in the film, Giant Haystacks’.

I remember building maps out of old Sonic tilesets and playing on them.
