Saw the latest Dreamworks effort this afternoon. Was quite good…

but something caught my ear – at the beginning there are two men located in an isolated radar listening post in the middle of Antarctica. The post has the codename “Red Dwarf”!

Think it’s definitely a reference as the scene is littered with them. When they pick up an alien signal it’s referred to as a “Code Nimoy”!

So somebody at Dreamworks is a fan.

Someone at Dreamworks is stealing my ideas, that’s what they’re doing.

Oh well. Wouldn’t be the first time.

Also, they used the “Brown Alert” gag.

Not the best gag to borrow from Red Dwarf, it has to be said…

Is it a sequel to Alien Vs Predator?

I’ve only just watched Kung Fu Panda, which was pretty good (though absolutely insane in the ADD generation type way in places!) and now with the great reaction to MvA it looks like Dreamworks have finally got their shit together.

I just saw it in 3d. Definitely the best animation in the last few years.
