Paul Jackson quits ITV

Apparently he’s going to be returning to production.

His production credits include sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, and Bafta-winning series 3 Of A Kind and The Young Ones. More recently he has executive produced the US versions of Hell’s Kitchen and Nanny 911 for Fox.

Hmm, :o/ Kind of gone downhill a bit there Paul hasn’t it?

Crikey. Not sure if this is good or bad news, to be honest. I’d like to see Paul setting up his own company, but it’s not the ideal business climate…

Not sure what this says about my mind but in his following statement:

I am leaving a great team with a very full slate of hit shows and a few new ones to play out in the coming months

I read another word in place of ‘hit’. “Did he just swear on a mainstream site?” I thought. (Like he’d refer to his work as that.)

Not that the ITV shows he’s credited with particularly float my boat, (“Benidorm, the Ice thing, etc) but I haven’t seen enough of them to judge fairly.

It would be funny if Jackson was producing new Dwarf. The cast would be shitting themselves again!
