In July I thought he was defending theoretical electric SUV owners from being defamed by association, but with the recent tweet in mind I can now see he just thinks electric SUV owners are losers that are ruining things for the rest of the electric car community.

Even within the confines of his chosen single issue, it’s pretty bizarre that Robert thinks about hypothetical scenarios where electric vehicles might be unfairly blamed for accidents, yet he seems to pretty much ignore Tesla’s many high profile fuck-ups when it comes to safety. “Ooh, can you IMAGINE what the right wing press would say if a vehicle that killed someone happened to be electric??” Well Bobby, that is not actually a hypothetical scenario, so as long as the vehicle was a Tesla, I can confidently say that the right wing press would either not care at all, chalk it up as a freak occurrence, or claim that such accidents are the price of progress. The right wing press aren’t opposed to electric cars because they’re electric; they side with power and wealth.
