    “The planet’s kerploding!”

Futurama, Love’s Labours Lost in Space, said by Fry just as Vergon 6 is kerploding.

Does anyone else always get intense joy at seeing Bender, arms raised it the air, shouting Woo!? It’s possibly one of the happiest things on TV.

I just love it when Bender celebrates himself for no reason.

“Wooo! Bender’s great BENDER IS GREAT!

    B-E-N-D-E-R

    Bender is GREAT!”

    -I don’t feel well…
-It’s up to us to rescue him!
-Maybe he likes it here in hell?…
-It’s us who tempted him to sin!
-Maybe he’s back at the motel?…
-Come on, Fry, don’t be scared, I’m sure at least one of us will be spared! So, just sit back, enjoy the ride…
-My ass has blisters from this slide!

I couldn’t get onto the site on Friday. It kept vomiting some obscure error message at me. In retrospect I perhaps should have PrintScrn’d it, but I was at work at the time. Also I’m endemically lazy. Sometimes I don’t even bother to finish writing my posts, which goes some way to expla

It was just your customized 404 page when I looked at it, Andrew. Looked like someone had just not uploaded the front page.

Can you narrow down the timeframe beyond ‘when I looked at it’? When, and for how long? I was away over the weekend, but it’s all there now…

Dunno about that, but I’ve been looking at the website there… pretty much for the first time since Relaunch Day, and a couple of things:

    1) The “features” navigation feels wrong – there’s no first/last page link (given that there’s only ten a page, and how many pages that translates to, getting to older articles is a real chore), and (even if chronologically it’s accurate) clicking the “back” link to go to “older articles” feels counter-intuitive since they’re numbered in reverse (“(Showing 1 to 10 of 137)” being the most recent page)

    2) The “random” page header is cute, but that it’s sticky feels like it defeats the purpose.

Well, that wasn’t the question at hand, but okay…

    > The ?features? navigation feels wrong

We’re still playing with this, and with the News archive.

    > The ?random? page header is cute, but that it?s sticky feels like it defeats the purpose.

It should be random each time you visit. If it’s not changing each time, let me know the browser and system you’re on.

Pretty much all of Friday. I checked around 6pm GMT, then again at 8pm, and again shortly after midnight GMT (obviously I’m in a different timezone).

No, it really wasn’t. I checked the site between 10am and 1pm on Friday (can’t remember when) and it was down with the custom 404 page. It was up later in the day though – I was at work at 5pm, so it must have been around before then, even if it broke again later.

We’re on opposite sides of the Atlantic, so it’s unlikely to both be “just us”.

Well, okay, I was trying to be whimsical, for which I apologise. I won’t try that one again.

I know the site was up and down a little that day, but there was never a sustained hours-long period when it was down – the stats confirm the various page activity, hour by hour. Definitely wasn’t the stated ‘all of Friday’, hence the whimsey.

We’ll keep a weather eye, though.

I looked at the site just after the thread was started, and it was in a kerploded state. However, when I typed out the full address (ie, with the www. prefix) it worked OK.
