    Reading this for work. He mentions the “noise-to-signal ratio” as opposed to the more common “signal to noise.” Then he whips out a Bluetooth walrus polishing kit.

    Probably a coincidence, but it definitely struck me.

    Not sure about nose-to-signal ratio meaning anything, but the walrus polishing bit seems pretty obviously Red Dwarf inspired.
