Quite possibly the whole Family Circle assortment.

Now do be a dear and fuck off.

I’d be happy for everyone concerned to go on doing it until they’re thoroughly sick of it … or until it’s not funny anymore, whichever comes first.
I don’t find the cast ageing to be a problem, I’d rather have an old cast than a new cast. If you completely re-cast, or even replaced the cast one by one, you’d inevitably have a change in the dynamic and it would be a different show.

And it’s tha fact that they say he did Harry Potter and that was British so it must be OK. The point, surely, is that HP was new and didn’t have 50 years of history behind it. You can’t just fuck around with that.

I was just very under-whelmed by it all. It had some good moments, but over all the story felt under-developed and clunky. It seemed as if it was just a filler ep leading up to the scenes with River at the end. I think it’s the weakest of the series.

What I can’t figure out is why did he kill GangerAmy when he’d been so keen to save the other gangers?
Seems a little inconsistent, if not hypocritical.

    > That’s the obvious solution to the problem, but it almost seems too obvious to me. I suspect we’ll know more on Saturday – if the Gangerdoctor survives the episode, it seems likely, but I doubt he will.

It does seem a little *too* obvious, but I sort of like the idea that we’d have GangerDoctor running around the universe with his own agenda. Add that to the fact that he survives for 200 years … presumably outliving the eleventh incarnation of the Doctor, which opens things up for the twelfth Doctor to interact with the ganger of his former self. Which would be quite interesting.

I’m spoiler free so I don’t know if this has been speculated already, but feel free to laugh and point if it has.

I’m just wondering if the fact that we now have a ganger of the Doctor explains who was killed in episode 1?

Just pointing out that both of these ideas pre-date both RD and DW by quite a bit, actually.

    > Imelda Staunton’s character is brilliant. I just wanted to say that.

Her character is by far the most interesting so far.

I’m starting to be a little disappointed that the old characters aren’t being developed further. But I expect that’s probably the point, as the idea seems to be to kill them all off one by one.

I enjoyed that immensely. Loved Jeremy and silent singer. David and Maureen were wonderful as always. I agree entirely that Joy can’t really be dead – no way.
It’s going to interesting to see where the whole Grace Andrews thing goes.

But it’s not about scientific endeavour, is it? I’m all for scientific endeavour in all of it’s shapes and forms. But we already know that man can go into space. It’s been done.

This represents an enormous waste of resources, both in monetary and scientific terms, that ultimately benefits nobody but the super-rich acting out their boyhood fantasies for their own indulgence.

Here is the news: Rich twats get richer as other rich twats go into space, just, y’know, because they feel like it.
And meanwhile, in the rest of the world, half the planet is starving and there’s still no cure for AIDS.

The fact that Doug still won’t give any hints about the movie script shows (I hope) that he still hasn’t given up on it, so I’d like to see that script filmed before the show finally ends. I’m not optimistic enough to presume that they’d ever raise the money to do a full-blown movie, but if they had the means to make a feature-length TV movie then that would be nice.
