I enjoyed that. A few first week troubles, but shaping up to be another great show.

I’ve been watching 3, 4, 5 and now 6 again as a result of this thread. 3 is almost universally funny, 4 comes very close, 5 and 6 just seem to tail off…

However apparently it’s only 10 hours long, so I’m wondering whether to leave it for the plane when I go away in a few weeks or play it now.

Are you allowed to play DS on the plane with their WiFi?

I have a book about the remake I picked up for a quid somewhere. Both seasons are only 12.99 on Play – I’m sorely tempted.

From what I remember it was weird, had lots of CGI, but rather good production values and Emilia Fox was hot.

Ooh, GTA for the DS seems quite good, but I’ve not played much yet.

but despite having more episodes than the remake it only lasted one season.

Wow. That’s surprising. It’s like the oft-quoted 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers thing.

    Dear Mr Patrick,

Today I bought your comic from my local ASDA store which does not have any special cover SFX’s. Firstly, nice story, although I do wonder where the word “doofus” on page 5 came from. But aside from the chasing super heroes about, I think we’ve all been there. The art was also brilliant (especially the colouring in the classroom bit), although I realise that’s nothing to do with you.

I am, however, disappointed to see that your magazine will be going up to ?2.50 as of the next issue. This is a somewhat inflation busting price rise, only mildly tempered by the free multi-blaster and target.

Further more, I am disappointed that the “Web Shooter” you advertised on the front of your magazine does not, in fact, shoot webs but rather little plastic darts. Although this will no doubt keep our cats amused for some while, I do feel somewhat cheated that I will not be able to recreate my favourite scenes from the “Spider-man” Movie, such as stopping runaway trains.

I was never that keen on Nancy, to be honest. University Challenge is, however, one of the best episodes ever.

The original or the Reeves and Mortimer one? I never saw the original, but I liked the “new” one.

Because it was easier for you to sneak in to than a 15?

Just off on a slight tangent – I seem to remember 1992?s Batman was the first movie with a 12 rating. Am I right? I was thirteen – and old enough – at the time, hence my remembering.

Yep, and the first 12A was not Spider-man, but The Bourne Identity.

I’m of a firm belief that 12A should have a lower age limit though, ever since I spent a couple of hours sat in front of some very distressed seven/eight year olds who had been taken to see Batman Begins in IMAX.

I know I researched 15 for something I filmed that had to conform to that rating, and found that the context bit goes away at that level – so a 15 can have someone on screen saying “fuck fuck fuck” constantly.

PGs aren’t allowed too much swearing though, are they? 12/12A you can pretty much do what you like it seems, but I’m sure PGs are pretty strict.

Sorry – just to clarify – if I wish to purchase said comic, I *am* looking in the comic section at the newsagents and not at Forbidden Planet, aren’t I?

Actually, that says a lot, doesn’t it? We’ll happily sit here and go “A *White* Hole?” for 30 odd posts. We might even go “See ya in 10 minutes?” for an ironic laugh, but I’ve never heard anyone ever quote that.

Robert forgot the lines, I told him not to worry and just to make it up as he knew the gist of it.

    Oh yeah. That’s why.

I haven’t seen it yet, but plan to (although someone did mention the Moyles bashing stuff to me this morning as a fan of his).

However, speaking of kids books, I was in Waterstones the other day. A Roald Dahl book (Matilda IIRC) was in the “New Books” section. I asked the member of staff who was helping me look for something how it could be a new book when he’s been dead for 15 years. He wasn’t very sure…

They need someone to do Rimmer though, at fictionshed.com. I don’t know if anyone noticed that fictionshed.com are doing a Red Dwarf thing, and they need someone to do Rimmer. You can do it a couple of hours later than everyone else and post it to reddwarfforum.com, and then send it to the newspapers.

    Did I mention fictionshed.com? fictionshed.com.

Aside from America, is there a whole part of the internet that has missed irony and sarcasm? Is it because kids today watch crap American cartoons and kids shows which don’t bring them up with heavy sarcasm in their blood like the British stuff did?

So why did Tony have nothing further to do with Red Dwarf after series 4, having been quite consistently involved up to that point?

When did he stop doing the warm-up? I always assumed he was still doing it in Series III hence his appearance as his green suited character, but IV?

Chloe is raising a family now isn?t she? With the manager of Oasis?

IMDB doesn’t have her listed as having done anything for 5 years. I forget what she’s said at DJs, but if she wants to take it easy, why not.
