?All three script books containing Grant/Naylor scripts?, obviously. Thought that went without saying. But only because it does.

Oh, it did. But had I said it, I’d have been jumped on like mad, so I thought I’d help you out Andrew.

Rob was definitely involved in all three script books, split or no split.

    There are four script books.

The CORGI qualification relates to gas installation, rather than plumbing.

    Yes, I know. I –
    a) thought “plumber” was easier to understand/funnier than “gas installation technician”
    b) thought no-one would really care
    c) know that there are plumbers that do gas and vice versa, as they’re sort of linked.

Surely it’ll be a one hour special, and while the cast/set/crew are hanging around recording that, they’ll do some other crap for Dave to glue some clips onto, thereby giving Dave something new and special for very little extra effort*.

    (*Andrew: add the word relatively)

Go attack someone else. I don?t work there any more, so your special brand of pissed-off-ness is misdirected as well as ill-thought-out.

And I have never mentioned you as having worked there, nor have I attacked you in any way. I have mentioned GNP throughout, not yourself.

Again, if you read what I wrote, you would have realised this.

    Idiot.

Yeah, Catherine Tate didn?t say *anything* in interviews that hadn?t been announced by Team Who?

I did think about that when I put it. Which is why I put “Not generally” rather than “Not”.

If you all learned to read what I had written, this would be a much more sensible discussion!

No production?s information ever leaks out before release ever.

Not generally from the main cast/crew, no. Glad you agree.

Andrew, I give up with you. I don’t think it’s remotely that simplistic, OTOH, if it is done properly, what I said is achievable. My reasoning for this is that it happens all the time.

Well, perhaps Robert’s in the position where he thinks he’s got nothing to lose by breaking such an NDA, if he is under one. But you get my point. If GNP didn’t want it to get out, they would make sure it didn’t, certainly via major cast members.

Surely if GNP didn’t want the fact it was coming out to be known, they’d have put everyone who knows about it under an NDA. That’s what, oooh, the rest of the world does.

Things still get out the back door, but usually not attributable to anyone important.

Hence GNP want us to know about it.

One of the more candid bits would be good, but might not work without the context. I think Dwarfing USA would be good, but I always liked the way the “Black Wednesday/Thursday etc” bit was done.

Anything from the Series 1 or 2 Bodysnatcher doccos would be good though. I can’t remember which bit.

I think Series 3 is better than 2, but there are some awesome moments in Series 2 – the cooking scene works very well, even though most of the rest of the episode is crap, and “She thinks I’m the renaissance!” is a classic line…

Stating the obvious, I guess – try the Display button on your remote. Is there nothing in the Setup menu that looks ?On/Off?ish for info/display/whatever? (Cos that?s where the option is on my Sony.)

Nope. I’ve tried it all. On my player, anyhow.

Alternatively, my Philips TV has been going happily since 1999, and my DVD player since 2001 with no issues at all. In fact, compatibility wise, it’s one of the best out there, but reliability is certainly something that would make me buy one again, not “get another brand as soon as you are able”. A DVD/VHS Combi is likely to be a rebranded box these days anyhow.

But, yes. They do show an annoying blue box during alternate angle content. And I haven’t found a way to get rid of it. But otherwise, you’ll never have trouble with a poorly mastered DVD – I was one of the few that wondered what the Series III recall was all about.

No, I wasn’t getting at anyone regarding intelligent debate. Sorry for the misunderstanding Dave.

I’d like to try that in Asda. They don’t have those announcer people any more though, do they?

    Dave:

I think that?s exactly what he meant.

    It was, yes.

By the time we get to Blue, Lister does need and miss Rimmer, but Bodysnatcher was a prospective episode 2 so ?Herman Goering would have been more of a laugh than Rimmer. I mean, OK, he was a drug-crazed Nazi transvestite, but at least we could have gone dhancin!? still stands.

    That’s very true.

All I wanted to do was point out the similarities and wonder if, perhaps, Doug reused the concept of Bodysnatcher in Series VII. I thought about the fact that Blue ends up with Lister hating Rimmer again, but is that really the point of the episode or not? Isn’t it “just a funny ending”?

G&T has always encouraged intelligent debate, and as it was quiet (at least with Dwarf issues) I thought I’d encourage some, that’s all. My OP is almost certainly an incorrect observation, but I wanted to put it out there.

I’d prefer it to “stay in the family” personally, as from what I’ve seen only Rob and Doug are really capable of writing Red Dwarf.

Perhaps adding to the TV series would be different. A novel between 2 and III would be good, but I think it’d have to be “Dad” derived for me to be happy.

I think with the novels existing, you’d have to be very careful to go and have TV Series novels and non-TV Series novels.

If you have a Mac and an iPod, iTunes is great. If you haven’t, regardless of iTunes Plus, it’s a bit of a pain.

But if it’s DRM free on iTunes, you only have to go on there to buy it, so I can’t see a big issue really – it’s better than GNP selling it through their own site as lots of people have iTunes accounts anyway.

Thankfully I have a Mac and an iPod, so I don’t need to worry about the other stuff.

What’s funniest is when you have a film that you think should have an end credit sequence, but doesn’t, so a few people wait around, obviously waiting for something more and… nothing.

But to be honest, except for things like the Simpsons, where everyone knew that there would be an end credits sequence after the other in credit sequence, after the first week, so few people stay for these things. PotC3 is an example – so few people watched that it was unreal.
