It’s been cited on the Six of the Best CD as being a big influence to Rob and Doug during the conception stages of Red Dwarf and John Carpenter’s classic ‘student film done good’ Dark Star has been spotted on sale for a frankly LUDICROUS £5.89!
What with my workload last week, and then all the server problems here – it’s all rather late to be examining the Bodysnatcher storyboards. But then, this wouldn’t be G&T without being ever so slightly useless. And excellently, some of the storyboards pictured are from the script extracts – I’d forgotten we were even due storyboards for those bits…
As the release of Red Dwarf Remastered DVD set gets closer and closer, the final two documentary contributions have been announced by TOS. One is, of course, Doug Naylor and the other has my excitement circuits in overdrive (just like Krytens!1).
Ta to Jonsmad, who let us know that Saturday Live – Best of Series One is due out on the 16th April, with Play listing it for £14.99. More details are on Zeta Minor. Obviously, the news for this site is that Craig appears in three of the shows, and – best of all – Chris Barrie hosts one of them. But I guess I don’t need to tell you how important this show was to comedy as a whole – and it’s a show I’ve always wanted to see. (See Lewisohn.) Why didn’t my parents force me to watch it when I was five?
This is absolutely true: this morning (I’m on a night-shift), I had a dream. A dream that Rob Grant and Doug Naylor came round to my house, sat down on my sofa, and started writing new Red Dwarf.
