I’ve been posting here a few times, so I wanted to introduce myself.

It’s been 32 years since the first broadcast of Legion in Australia at 10pm on 22 October 1993, the first episode i saw . I was 9 years old and a fan of shows such as The Young Ones and The Goodies. My dad recommended it after he’d stumbled upon Red Dwarf and watched the Psirens ep. I instantly loved the show, I wondered who the bloke with the H on his forehead was. Legion wasnt taped so I found out the next week in Gunmen of the Apocalypse.

Later on came Bottom, Maid Marian and Her Merry Men and The Brittas Empire.

I’ve made a Spotify playlist of kind of Red Dwarf themed songs and instrumentals here

    https://spotify.link/HAqbBPOUFXb

I discovered G & T in 2004 and have really enjoyed all the articles. I recently wrote a song parody about here and I don’t know where to post it or if if it’ll format properly as it’s quite long.

Welcome! I’m impressed by how quickly the Australian broadcast followed the UK one, for the time.

Welcome JEMesis. I’m hoping your username is some kind of Megadrive reference.

It’s a reference to prog rock band Genesis and the hypothetical red dwarf Nemesis. I do love the original Sonic the Hedgehog platformers, though.

Legion was the first full episode I saw as well, and Bottom not long after. Both extremely appealing to kids still in single digits, I don’t know how much the creators knew that, but they got a lot of us early.

Which, given they did a music video with Spitting Image starring Chris Barrie, should have been your first guess…

I do love the original Sonic the Hedgehog platformers, though.

Arguably, this is more important for enjoying this forum than actually liking Red Dwarf

For once, somebody derailed a thread into Sonic talk and it wasn’t me.
