I was quite interested in the Graham Linehan AND Arthur Matthews’ commentary but I’m not sure it’s worth spending another £40 on. Anyone heard it? I can’t imagine it wouldn’t be interesting – especially given Linehan’s views on Series 3. Either way, I’ll get it once the price has dropped a bit… May 7, 2008 at 1:56 am #80099 pfmParticipant Sadly I haven’t heard it YET. I don’t even own series 3 on DVD, or series 2 pt 2 for that matter. I used to ‘borrow’ my sister’s copies. Rips that I made of them are somewhere but fuck me if I can remember where. You know what it’s like when you’ve got approx 1 million jewel cases and discs on your desk, all unmarked or smudged to fuck. It’s just a case of me not wanting to pay for the new set, but really I should, if only for the cover! If you don’t own any Ted this set is something you should pick up. Unless you hate sitcoms. Incidentally I decided to put on an old Fawlty Towers video (another thing I don’t own on DVD) the episode being ‘Gourmet Night’ aka the duck episode, aka the one where he hits his car with that branch. Classic comedy, the perfect example of a sitcom episode. How they crammed so much into each episode reminds me of both Ted and Dwarf. Ted is definitely the illegitamate offspring of Fawlty (the show, not the characters, because that would be insane) May 11, 2008 at 2:28 pm #80182 Dimension Jump IIParticipant I have heard it, courtesy of my mate who bought the new set (his old one having been lent out and never returned), so I was able to conveniently supplement my existing four volumes. They are quite genuinely the best Ted commnentaries by a mile. Linehan’s very down on much of it as ever, but Mathews’ counterbalance stops it being a miserable experience. None of the new video extras are worth bothering with bar the USTV interview special and the easter egg.
