April 9, 2009 at 5:10 pm #95534 p2p_productionsParticipant “No man is an island, except when he’s having a bath.” April 9, 2009 at 5:13 pm #95535 hummingbirdParticipant This is gonna be a short thread. April 9, 2009 at 5:39 pm #95551 Pete Part ThreeParticipant I nom…. Never mind. April 9, 2009 at 5:40 pm #95552 Jason aka Smeg4BrainsParticipant Well he did have the idea that Holly should be seen, not just a voice. April 9, 2009 at 5:42 pm #95553 locusceruleusParticipant >Well to be fair to him the Breakfast interview wasn?t that funny. Was it supposed to be? It’s BBC Breakfast, not Jonathan Ross. April 9, 2009 at 5:43 pm #95554 locusceruleusParticipant He’s right about the fact that he’s not bitte…. *pisses self immediately* April 9, 2009 at 5:44 pm #95555 thomasaevansParticipant Funny or not… RedDwarf on BBC Breakfast. Last time that happened was 1999… and Norm was just as miserable on that. April 9, 2009 at 6:48 pm #95571 RadParticipant >Was it supposed to be? It?s BBC Breakfast, not Jonathan Ross. Yeah I know, this is a thread about how little Norm is right about. Given the rest of what Norm said I thought that was a good line. April 9, 2009 at 9:11 pm #95585 Mr-StabbyParticipant I, Lovett he was definitely right about, as he was the only one who actually loved it. Eh eh eh! I’m here all week, don’t bother trying the veal ! April 10, 2009 at 12:50 am #95627 PhilParticipant I was excited when Norm uploaded all of the I, Lovett episodes to his site, because I had been really wanting to watch them. …then I made it about, oh, six minutes into the first one, and never bothered again. Jesus Christ it sucked. April 10, 2009 at 2:39 am #95638 WilburParticipant >Well he did have the idea that Holly should be seen, not just a voice. If Holly hadn’t been a head, and just a voice, then he/she would have still been a key crew member when they left the ship, since a voice is easier to transport than a physical entity. Therefore, Norm killed off his own character. April 10, 2009 at 2:39 am #95636 WilburParticipant Double post April 10, 2009 at 8:22 am #95643 locusceruleusParticipant I don’t know about that…what about the Holly watch? Surely they could have used that more if they’d really been desperate to keep the character. I’ve always thought that Holly’s gradual fade-out was more due to Kryten taking over exposition duties. April 10, 2009 at 9:36 am #95657 Turk ThrustParticipant Can Doug do it all on his own though? That is the one point in Norm`s rant that may have some validity (and one or 2 of the reviewers have said the same thing). I guess we will see tonight and over the weekend. By the way, I actually don`t think I, Lovett is that bad at all and it is generally quite highly thought of from what I`ve read. April 10, 2009 at 9:39 am #95661 siParticipant I remember liking I, Lovettt when it was first on. But I was only ten. April 10, 2009 at 10:30 am #95670 AndrewParticipant > what about the Holly watch? Surely they could have used that more if they?d really been desperate to keep the character. This is the point in a nutshell. You could have crowbarred the character in to reel off the odd one-liner from a watch, but to what end? If it has no relevance to the story whatsoever – as you’ll see in the final show, all four main characters are vital to the unfolding story of BTE – it’s just a cameo. A cameo that you have to pay for on a budget that’s already incredibly tight. April 10, 2009 at 10:53 am #95677 Mr FlibbleParticipant I hear Norm’s no longer interested in the audience Red Dwarf used to attract. April 10, 2009 at 10:58 am #95679 siParticipant I hear Norm’s no longer interested in the attraction Red Dwarf used to have. April 10, 2009 at 12:35 pm #95695 locusceruleusParticipant I hear Norm’s tired of living. April 10, 2009 at 2:18 pm #95709 PhilParticipant >I actually don`t think I, Lovett is that bad at all It may well have gotten better than the first third of episode one, but the prospect of sitting through the rest of them based on that possibility was not an appealing one. >and it is generally quite highly thought of That does absolutely nothing to change my own opinion, nor should it. April 10, 2009 at 2:23 pm #95710 peas_and_cornParticipant >*pisses self immediately* I think there are special underpants to help you with that problem. He apologised for that spot between his eyes in one of the commentaries… April 10, 2009 at 2:36 pm #95711 locusceruleusParticipant >I think there are special underpants to help you with that problem. My underpants are special by default. April 10, 2009 at 3:27 pm #95713 JoParticipant >Pete Part Three / Thu, 2009-04-09 18:39 / # >I nom? Hungry? April 10, 2009 at 6:46 pm #95731 Zombie Jim UndeadParticipant I think they might have invited him to take part in Back to Earth if he didn’t have hair like a paintbrush. I hear they were planning a whole episode based around Holly inspecting a tea-bag found on the underside of the ship. April 10, 2009 at 7:04 pm #95733 Pete Part ThreeParticipant Norm didn’t get the Davros gig because he’s too bitter and twisted for the role. April 10, 2009 at 7:13 pm #95736 Zombie Jim UndeadParticipant win.
