I know it’s slightly off-topic, but I’d love to keep up with more Dwarfers. Are any of you on Twitter? I think it would be great to have a directory of Twitter accounts if others here use it.

If you’d like to follow me, I’m at https://twitter.com/davidrussell

    I couldn’t resist http://twitter.com/Drumjay
It’s quite fun really. Send 13 million replies to celebs in a vain attempt that they might reply!

Finally decided to stop waiting for Twitter to reactivate my old deleted account, so I’ve settled on this bad boy:

    Follow me as you wish.

Anyone come across @shutupmeg yet. If you follow them or not and even if they don’t follow you, use the words “shut up” in a tweet and this “app” retweets it. It isn’t a person, it must be retweet nano’s!!

Attention people who use Twitter: there are easier ways to find out when the specials are being shown than DIRECTLY ASKING ROBERT LLEWELLYN.

    And again, with Carpool:

    Erm, first result:

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=robert+llewellyn+carpool&btnG=Search

In fact, this reminds me of a routine David Mitchell did on a Brooker radio pilot I went to the other day. It was all about how the internet ruins fun, and gave an example of how instead of sitting in a pub having a discussion about what names the Wombles had, you’d just Google it, and then SIT THERE IN SILENCE for the rest of the night.

It was vaguely amusing, sure – but it also highlights the issue here. There are more interesting things to talk about to do with the Wombles than what their fucking names are. Stuff about how the show made you *feel*, for instance. Stuff with depth, rather than surface trivia. If Mitchell was trying to make a point – and I admit he might not have been, but it felt like he was – then he failed.

Likewise, there are more interesting things to ask Robert Llewellyn than what the fuck Carpool actually is. Twitter gives you access to people you perhaps wouldn’t otherwise have access to – a chance to ask them questions they’ve never been asked before. Why waste that access by asking something a quick Google search will answer faster, and better?

Google doesn’t kill conversations. It helps you have better ones.

Can’t guarantee I’ll keep it updated, but I’ll try.
