I think someone did email the guy about it and he said he didn’t get that far. it was just a pitch for Doug but was rejected for some reason.

That’s unfortunate, maybe he denied it cause he was putting all his attention on the movie at the time. It’s a shame Red Dwarf doesn’t have much in the realm of video games though, besides the two mobile games, which while they are a bit mediocre I’m glad they exist.

I remember hearing Rob on the Comedy Connection documentary going-on about how they were in-talks to develop a Red Dwarf video game prior to the Grant Naylor split. Wonder what could’ve happened there.

I always used to hope, back in the 90s, they would do some amazing, fun 2D Dwarf game for the SNES and Mega Drive, like running round the ship solving puzzles and blasting polymorphs, with humor from the show. Like a cross between Earthworm Jim, Metroid, Prince of Persia, and some point and click thing.

The only Red Dwarf game I had was this piece of shit. Though I’m sure our version sampled the “taken Mr Rimmer”/”before they bring him back” exchange every time you started the level.

I leant towards graphic adventure in my wishful thinking.

A Red Dwarf episode as a game rather than any game with, um, Red Dwarf episodes.

Well there was also this Mobile game released in the early 2000s.

My guess is that when it comes to red dwarf games is that its Quality vs Funding.
