Who’s your favourite Lister?

Follow-up to my earlier Rimmer thread. What’s your favourite version of Lister in the show?

*The lovable slob of series 1-2?

*The stylish action hero of 3-5?

*The grungy down-on-his-luck space bum of 6-7?

*Rimmer’s partner in crime, in 8?

*Or the more tempered middle-aged adventurer in the Dave era? 

Personally, for my tastes, I really love what Craig has done with the character in recent years. I like the self-awareness and crazy uncle charm that Lister has now.

I think series 1 Lister is as slobby as he ever gets. But series 1 Lister is creatively slobby.

Before that, I prefer 1-2 Rimmer and Cat, III-V Lister (mainly the performance) and V Kryten.

V Kryten is firing on all cylinders. He’s almost a different character just a few years later in VII.
