    I’m wondering what people consider canon, normal broadcast episodes or their extended counter parts?Or do you just think the extended parts are canon that we didn’t see in the original but still took place, if you know what I mean.

    100% canon. Although some really dumb people don’t consider anything post-VI to be canon.

    The idea of actually even CONSIDERING a Dwarf canon just makes me weep for humanity. If you’re talking about a show that lives and breaths for it’s story and universe (Babylon 5, BSG, Lost, any number of dramas) then fine, but why force a concept like that on a show that clearly didn’t take continuity or any sort of story all that seriously?

    If I were going to take anything as canon, it’d be the books.

    Which, erm, go on to contradict each other anyway. Oh well.

    Does anything happen in the extended versions that would really make a difference? It’s just a bunch of line-trims and chat scenes, no? The biggest addition would probably be the ending of Tikka, but even that doesn’t really matter for anything but the comedy value.

    The ‘meccano gimboid’ line in that extended part makes me laugh a lot, which is more than can be said for the rest of VII. The way Chris says it and Robert’s reaction to it is what always made Dwarf great.

    Everything in all versions of red dwarf is cannon.
    Because alternate dimensions and changes to timelines
    happens a lot. So that would make it a cannon with several barrels.
    And a lot of balls.

    Nothing in Red Dwarf is canon except the first 11 minutes of White Hole and some of the Smegups
