The BBC resume their repeat run with Backwards on Thursday 3rd October, no news on if they’re doing the whole series or not yet: https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules/p00fzl97/2024/10/03

Nice, it was pretty much this time last year when they did I and then II I think (which might just be a coincidence but fingers crossed that III gets a full run.)

What if after this they show Backwards Forwards and then get stuck in a loop.

I’m praying Polymorph Remastered is aired. Much better ending in that one.

Well I’m excited to find out which Marooned is aired, if nothing else

The BBC could do a themed repeat series that would be the perfect length, “Red Dwarf: Just The Colours”.

    1. Marooned

    2. White Hole

    3. Blue

    4. Back in the Red Part 1

    5. Back in the Red Part 2

    6. Back in the Red Part 3

For the record the Marooned repeat will mean it has been broadcast on the BBC in each of the eighties, nineties, noughties, twenty-tens and twenty-twenties; this is thanks to its 2014 airing for BBC Two’s fiftieth anniversary, which was the only BBC airing for Dwarf in the whole of the 2010s.

I’ll leave it up to someone else to work out what the best rated run of six out of that lot is, but I reckon it’s either Future Echoes/Give & Take/Gunmen/Holoship/Inquisitor/Justice, or Polymorph/Promised Land/Psirens/Quarantine/Queeg/Rimmerworld. Stasis Leak/Stoke/Terroform/Thanks for the Memory/Tikka/Timeslides would be another contender.

For this repeat run they should swap Timeslides and Polymorph so the episode with the big monster goes out on Halloween.

Always the chance they decide to have a 2 week break to show something else for no apparent reason and it works out that way anyway, think that happened in the I or II run last year. Could actually squeeze in IV as well before Christmas if there weren’t any breaks though.

Or they could have a one week break between III and IV and we’d get this guy on Boxing Day

    Polymorph added for the 17th.

It’d be nice for someone involved with the show to promote III being repeated. Unless this was the BBC thought process:

I guess the big question now is whether they go for the original or broadcast sequencing for IV.

More seriously if we get to IV it will be interesting how they handle Meltdown.
