This was all going so well until the interview with Robert, where some TWAT made a reference to the special effects on the older series being “a joke”. Fuck off. Name one special effects shot from Series I-VI that’s a “joke”, and I’ll name you twenty that are utterly perfect. April 24, 2009 at 6:01 pm #97992 Mr-StabbyParticipant Like i said on another forum ‘Rubbish special effects’ and ‘wobbly sets’ are typical sound bites for the lazy journalist who doesn’t have a clue about the subject they’re supposed to be talking about. What can i say :) And i agree, Red Dwarfs special effects were bloody fantastic for the time. April 24, 2009 at 6:03 pm #97994 JamesTCParticipant Well since they have said it for Doctor Who so many times they just apply it to every other Sci Fi show. I wonder why people care about the special effects or “wobbly sets”, if the script is good that is enough, only a fucking idiot would care about effects over a good script which sadly many people do today… April 24, 2009 at 6:06 pm #97995 hummingbirdParticipant I’ve always found the wobbly sets and low-tech effects to be part of the charm of early Who, etc. April 24, 2009 at 6:09 pm #97996 JamesTCParticipant You just can’t enjoy a Dalek story without seeing one wobble.
