Probably more the former than the latter…but… But it’s very, very much a self-made outsider’s view of the show, and for that reason alone some of it’s awfully interesting – not so much for what it says as why, you wonder, the writer thinks and says these things. It is, if nothing else, a perspective we don’t see so much – not in this kind of detail – and for that reason, I thought, worthy of comment. May 21, 2010 at 9:53 pm #109803 Seb PatrickKeymaster Hmm. You’re right, it’s interesting, though. Although the part that piques the most is wondering what the heck DVD he’s watching… where is Kryten “episode five” of series two? And I’m guessing from screenshots and the Holly gag from C&P that he’s got Remastered? May 21, 2010 at 10:02 pm #109805 JoParticipant Wait… I’ve never seen Jackie Brown. What are fried chicken and waffles? There’s definitely something messed up. I was totally thrown when the whole backwards reality discussion started long before Series III was mentioned. It’s possible they’re all in the wrong order from being downloaded (can’t be DVD, can it? Not unless he imported Bodysnatcher)…but it’s equally weird not to not the change in production values and design aesthetic after the first 12 eps. > And I’m guessing from screenshots and the Holly gag from C&P that he’s got Remastered? Indeed. That’s part of what interest me, actually – that he’s apparently unaware that it’s remastered, and that there are digs at the production values…but not specifically the effects. (When even the models usually take the traditional – and wholly unfair – kicking of being called “wobbly” of whatever when those eps are retrospectively reviewed.) May 22, 2010 at 4:13 pm #109820 NakrophileParticipant Their 80s Action section has long been a favourite of mine… I noticed the Dwarf article and thought about posting it here; on a related note, my computer has been dead for some time but I have returned neverthless. Glad to see the number of headlines on the front page hasn’t increased by a number more than two. :) May 23, 2010 at 4:00 am #109823 WilburParticipant How do Americans pronounce condom? Are the vowels silent? Or is this just a lack of familiarisation with a slobby scouse accent? May 23, 2010 at 8:56 am #109824 redhead85Participant They say it ‘condem’ so the double syllable isn’t quite as pronounced. May 23, 2010 at 11:22 am #109826 redhead85Participant This has to go down as weirdest discussion of my week anyways…. ^__^ May 23, 2010 at 11:38 am #109825 AndrewParticipant Both ‘O’ sounds are very different – the first one, too. It’s almost an ‘Ah’ sound. “Cahndahm”. May 23, 2010 at 11:52 am #109827 Seb PatrickKeymaster Although the second vowel sound isn’t as pronounced as the first – it’s more like “Cahnd’m”. May 23, 2010 at 12:44 pm #109828 Danny StephensonKeymaster Like “camden” but not… :) May 24, 2010 at 9:12 am #109837 peas_and_cornParticipant I thought they said ‘rubber’. May 24, 2010 at 10:56 pm #109845 ChrisMParticipant They say both. ‘Rubber’ is slang. (I met an American woman who found it amusing we refer to what they call, ‘erasers’ that way.) May 25, 2010 at 6:05 am #109847 hummingbirdParticipant Yeah, but some people are amused by anything. May 30, 2010 at 3:48 pm #109889 genericnerdyusernameParticipant Haha you have a waffle in your pic! May 30, 2010 at 5:56 pm #109890 ChrisMParticipant That rabbit actually looks scary though… May 30, 2010 at 7:32 pm #109891 Danny StephensonKeymaster Tha’s no ordinary rabbit. Tha’s the most foul, cruel and bad-tempered rodent you e’er set eyes on! May 30, 2010 at 7:40 pm #109892 redhead85Participant Look at its teeth!! Look at the bones!!
