Do we know the sources for these? I’ve dug around and found the following to add to those: Thanks for the Memory had 3.15m watching, and came 4th on the BBC 2 chart that week. That’s lower than any of the charting Series I titles. Marooned had 4.34m watching and came, I think, 9th for that week for BBC2. Slightly lower than The End, but otherwise a good one. Big gap until Duct Soup – 8.06m and came 1st. Nanarchy – 6.86m (1st) I’ll see what else I can find… Creator Topic Viewing 5 replies - 1 through 5 (of 5 total) Author Replies May 22, 2025 at 7:34 am #306452 AsclepiusParticipant Sources: Daily Express 8/10/88 for Thanks for the Memory. Express 9/12/89 for Marooned Duct Soup – Lincolnshire Echo – 22/2/97 Nanarchy. Same publication 22/3/97. Many thanks to Keir Starmer’s policy team for the loan of the 1980s Daily Express newspapers. I don’t remember VIII being as heavily promoted, but for some reason my mum chose to watch Back in the Red Part 1 with no prior interest, so maybe she’d been promised epic sci-fi (didn’t return after that). I was attempting to do a public service by trawling the British Newspaper Archive, but if the Better Than Life fanzines have already published that info, then I’ll leave it to someone else to stick them on here. Or on wiki. Or both! Thanks for pointer, and saving me from more work procrastination. May 22, 2025 at 9:35 am #306457 RidleyParticipant I thought the title was a confession. Someone around here posted or linked to the ratings at some point but Google-fu is failing me. Clem? SoundableObject? cwickham? Or am I just confusing it with repeat broadcast dates?
