Does anyone else remember this fantastic sitcom? I think the last time it was repeated was the late 80’s/early 90’s which is when I saw it. The only thing I can think of doing is starting one of those ghey online petition things which I hate and hardly ever do any good! It would be a travesty if this fantastic series just disappeared forever :( Creator Topic Viewing 13 replies - 1 through 13 (of 13 total) Author Replies May 17, 2007 at 11:53 pm #123519 Smeg4BrainsParticipant I don’t remember it but this thread made me think, does anybody remember Game On? It was on the BBC2 comedy night, same as Dwarf was, i think it may have been between series of Red Dwarf. I can remember finding it very amusing at the time, haven’t seen it for a while though. May 18, 2007 at 9:12 am #123541 Seb PatrickKeymaster Oh, Game On was dreadful. Inexplicably popular, desperately unfunny, and downright terrible. May 18, 2007 at 10:09 am #123511 John HoareParticipant I don’t remember Get Some In at all. I’d love to see it sometime. But… I have a soft spot for Game On, I’m afraid. I laughed a hell of a lot at it. I must get the DVDs – ?15.99 is a great deal. Although the end of the first paragraph of the description can FUCK RIGHT OFF. Even bought the DVDs… May 18, 2007 at 11:06 am #123444 mickParticipant I just find it terribly frustrating that nobody knows about it and that it hasnt been repeated in over 15 years, other shows of the same era like ‘It Aint Half Hot Mum!’ are repeated all the time on various channels. I mean id have thought somebody, somewhere would have thought about showing it solely on the basis of being Robert Lindsay’s first major TV role! I mean aside from that you have: Tony Selby, a superb TV actor who made several appearances in ‘Doctor Who’ as Sabalom Glitz. John D. Collins who ironically played Flying Officer Fairfax on over 60 episodes of ‘Allo Allo’ Karl Howman who is nowadays perhaps better remembered as the balding bloke in the Flash cleaner commercials. David Janson who playes ‘Herr Otto Flick’ in the later series of ‘Allo Allo’ Brian Pettifer who aside from his massive list of TV appearances was in ‘Timeslip’ nuff said! :D How the hell can shows like this just dissapear into total obscurity?! :( May 20, 2007 at 7:48 pm #123666 Tarka DalParticipant > I just find it terribly frustrating that nobody knows about it and that it hasnt been repeated in over 15 years There’s somekind of connection their but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Oh and Game On was great. It’ll date terribly to the mid 90s but that’s its legacy. It was THE britpop, new lad sitcom. May 21, 2007 at 8:13 am #123544 Smeg4BrainsParticipant >Wasn?t Game On where some agraphobic bloke had sex with a vacuum cleaner or something? Something like that…I’m going to get the DVD’s when I have some money. May 21, 2007 at 8:51 am #123564 Tanya JonesParticipant I remember Get Some In! I must have watched the same repeats as you, and I remember enjoying them at the time. I think Network may be a good company to approach for a DVD release. May 21, 2007 at 10:25 am #123563 mickParticipant Thanks Tanya! I’ll look into it :D May 21, 2007 at 9:15 pm #123440 Danny StephensonKeymaster I remember the phrase ‘ginger tosser’ was used in Game On with reckless abandon… May 21, 2007 at 11:21 pm #123441 Tarka DalParticipant Game On revelled it it’s invented insults and colourful language most of it from Neil Stuke’s character. Skunkpussies I think was another one. May 22, 2007 at 8:37 am #123442 Ian SymesKeymaster Girly, shirt-lifting tosspiece.
