Hey all, does anyone know offhand if the captions for the U.S. DVDs were just carried over from the UK DVDs, or did another company re-do them? I’m asking because the U.S. version is consistently wrong; not just missing things, but actually spelling things wrong or just flat out getting the wrong words. Case in point: Kill Crazy calls Kryten “Droid Boy” in “Krytie TV” while in the shuttle, but the captions, at least on the U.S. version, says “Toy Boy”. I only realized this because in the bonus materials, which are also captioned, it’s correctly captioned. I’m just curious, because I’ve found several of these instances, if it’s a regional thing.

Hmm, interesting. I’m afraid I’ve no idea, though.

I must admit, I was hoping to find an amusing photograph for us to add witty dialogue to.

Would someone, perchance, be able to confirm what the captions say on their Region 2 version when Kill Crazy calls Kryten “Droid Boy” in the shuttle?

Maybe. If I can bring myself to watch “Krytie TV” again. ;)

Just had a look and it’s “toy boy” in Region 2 as well.

The subtitles are often wrong, as is sometimes remarked upon during Dwarfcast commentaries.

    Oh, shut up, Patrick.
