    Interesting… yet Bobby Llew says the audience was missing purely for budgetary reasons.

    They’re never likely to get a big budget on Dave. Any budget increases are likely to be swallowed up by people not working for reduced rates (or copies of the script!) next time.

    Plus, if they’re going to keep anything like the level of greenscreen the BtE on-ship stuff used, it would be very hard to have an audience for anything other than a RD7-style “show them the already-filmed stuff”

    Which would probably be cheaper and so the best route if they want the laugh track back.

    It’s simple, if they go back to more sitcom-y Dwarf they NEED the audience back, even if this means screenings only.
