A new series – costumes?

If there will be a new series, would you like to see a change from the BTE costumes? Personally, the only gripe i had was Rimmers outfit. It looked like a surgeons outfit, too bright. when rimmer was dancing, that music, combined with his face and that outfit just made him seem like an old aged pensioner.

I saw in a behind the scenes video that they still have all his jackets from series VI and VII, it may look a bit weird but i wouldnt mind if he went back to those.

All I saw during his music/dance scene was a hybrid of Rimmer and Brittas, but perhaps that’s just me.

As for outfits, Cat’s were as perfect as always. Lister’s literally was from earlier series. Kryten… well… yeah… And Rimmer wont go back, as he always changes. So he probably wouldn’t be in his BtE outfit anyway cause he’s been there, done that, worn the surgeons outfit…

I think they should all keep their outfits with the exception of Cat. I LOVED Cat’s costume*, but to keep in character (i.e. he likes to change suits regularly) it makes sense that he’d have a new suit in a new series.

Besides, someone else will have won it in a competition by then anyway.

*I wasn’t keen on the flared diving suit mind you. I could do without the close fitting seat, but for comic effect it worked.

They should keep the same costumes (well, Cat can change into various suits throughout a full series) as BtE. Keep the bunkroom set, keep as much as possible from BtE so they can save money that can be used elsewhere (e.g. building a new Starbug/Blue Midget cockpit set).

You know, it’s getting so that by the time they go to make the next series, any outstanding questions about what anything *might* look like will already have been answered by the GnT community.

Incidentally, I have never agreed with the black and white Rimmer, making him look like a ghost is too creepy although I love the idea that the first models were. (see the video I posted a while back) Anyway, if all holigrams were black and white, what would be the object of putting an H on them?

I’m iffy about the moustache, but yeah, I’m not exactly crazy about the current costume…I hate the quilted pants and the belt/cummerbund thingy. Howard Burden should stick to blue or green, and I don’t think Chris looks good in yellow AT ALL. I don’t like the red either, but I know that’s a standby color for soft-light, so who knows if that will ever be brought back at some point for whatever reason.

I find there are very few things he looks *bad* in. He *does* look to me like he’s taking style tips from Facist Dictator Monthly though. Specifically, the dictator of a small south american country.
