Well, obviously. I only said “a sort of sense”. August 9, 2009 at 2:42 am #102062 pfmParticipant > undeserved The knife thing alone. August 9, 2009 at 2:58 am #102063 AndrewParticipant He’s got real presence, the poor guy. An old-America, gravel-voiced thing, yet at the same time he can pull something as empathy-filled as Bishop out of the bag. But he got stuck in the genre rut and, really, hasn’t had to stretch himself to make a living. A shame, because I still think he has a ‘where did that come from?!’ performance in him. Anderson – Paul Thomas, not Paul W.S. – if you’re listening… August 9, 2009 at 8:07 am #102064 peas_and_cornParticipant As a fan of Millennium, I really think it’s a shame he hasn’t had more good roles- he was fantastic as Frank Black. August 9, 2009 at 9:21 am #102066 hummingbirdParticipant What Andrew said. August 9, 2009 at 11:39 am #100888 p2p_productionsParticipant >d) Bishop 2 is a human descendant of Weyland rather than a clone or droid, who rather looks like his ancestor. Maybe he’s his time twin like in Kappatoo. Remember that? On CITV? With Denise (Van) Outen? And Andrew O’Connor? And Rula Lenska? No? Just me, then? Okay. Actually, I always liked the ambiguity of whether A3’s Bishop II was human or not. At best, it’s a question that needs no answer – just like ‘is Deckard a replicant? – the REAL answer to the question would just let the gas out of the balloon. Though, I think the script for 3 stated that Bishop II was human, and there’s even a deleted clip of him screaming “I’m not a droid” after 85 hits him with the pipe/wrench/whatever. It’s more than likely he was intended to be human, but the reason why just got lost in translation: “Bishop II turns. No wires. No milk. Real blood.” …Oh, and yes. Henriksen is great in both Aliens and AvP. Met him at Memorabilia when he was promoting the latter. Nice guy. I liked that show too, although I haven’t seen all of it. And yeah Henricksen was great in it. Speaking of AvP I came across this link on another site… http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=42780 Bad news for many if true (although I liked AvP and I’ve yet to see the second one.) Good news is… it looks like it’ll be in space. Not that that makes a good film, but going back to the AvP roots might not be a bad thing. August 10, 2009 at 11:44 am #102109 p2p_productionsParticipant If I recall, the ‘AvP III in space’ idea was to be the follow up from the guys who directed Requiem, but seeing as their film wasn’t exactly spectacular, it looks like Fox has decided to go a different direction with Scott Free. IMO, a third AvP movie probably won’t happen for a while. If ever. August 10, 2009 at 12:00 pm #102111 JamesTCParticipant Hopefully never. August 10, 2009 at 1:08 pm #102115 DessieParticipant Why did they ever think it was a good idea to have AvP set on earth? I’m guessing either budget reasons or writer stupidity. I did enjoy them at the time but looking back they are awful. Even the Predators home world in Requiem disappointed me. But then, I’ve always likes the Dark Horse series. Might blog about Aliens Labyrinth one of these days… August 10, 2009 at 1:39 pm #102119 JamesTCParticipant I am not a fan of Predator so that is why I don’t want another Alien film, I just want the Aliens, plus I hated how the Predators were made out to sort of be the good guy in AvP. August 10, 2009 at 2:12 pm #102121 p2p_productionsParticipant I would still love to see an anthology Aliens TV series – sorta like The Outer Limits with some stories set in the future, some in present day – just lots of variety in general. August 10, 2009 at 3:23 pm #102124 ChrisMParticipant A space marines type series could be good. Dealt with in the right way without being to repetitive (i.e. infested planet of the week etc.) of course. Multipart story arcs, perhaps other species (there were indications in Aliens they exist) android issues, Company machinations, etc, etc. Remember Space Above and Beyond? (I liked that show) Those aliens were sentient of course but that kind of thing. (Actually SAaB probably got the concept from Aliens. Heh.)
