Was flicking through juicy sci-fi magazine Deathray the other day and noticed a lovely 2 page spread on Bill Pearson’s model work for Duncan Jones’ film ‘Moon’. Firstly, it looks absolutely amaaaaazing. Secondly, he tells us that the moon shuttle used in the film is actually constructed from a model he built for the….wait for it. RED DWARF MOVIE. How far into production did this thing go, for God’s sake? EDIT: Ah, I think THIS might be it. Either way, the model work for Moon looks fantastic. July 18, 2009 at 10:55 am #101245 Paul MullerParticipant That’s the one. Nice to see it made it to the big screen eventually. August 15, 2009 at 3:01 pm #102338 Paul MullerParticipant Nice article. Apparently Bill made quite a bit of stuff for the RD movie. Would be nice to see it some time. http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/filmblog/2009/aug/14/moon-sam-rockwell-special-effects August 15, 2009 at 3:09 pm #102342 JoParticipant Some rather impressive models built for one of the many false-starting Red Dwarf movies were being cannibalised to provide detailing for Moon’s lunar mining facility.
