I’m of the opinion that the last decent game journalism outlet was Amiga Power, the spiritual successor to Your Sinclair (which I’ve never read, but that’s my own damned fault for having been born a mere four months after the mag launched, and also having never owned a Sinclair in my entire life). Modern game journalism is shit, posting rumours and conjecture as absolute fact – anyone else remember “They’re making a videogame of Juno!” during 2008? Or is it just me? – and churning out absolutely shit articles and editorials, like TheLeenParticipant The German retro gaming magazines are all very nice. :P April 19, 2010 at 12:53 pm #109451 Seb PatrickKeymaster Do you read RPS, Ben? You should give it a shot, if not. April 19, 2010 at 7:05 pm #109454 Ben PaddonParticipant I thought I had subscribed to their RSS feed, but apparently not. I have rectified this transgression. Their Toonstruck gallery brought back memories. June 28, 2010 at 8:56 pm #110055 Ben PaddonParticipant Shameless plug: I just made this and I’m incredibly proud of it. June 29, 2010 at 11:19 am #110059 Ian SymesKeymaster Either it comes with a free MiniDisk, or the magazine’s A3. June 29, 2010 at 3:31 pm #110060 Ben PaddonParticipant It supposed to come with a 3.5″ floppy disk. I might have gotten the proportions wrong. June 29, 2010 at 5:53 pm #110061 Ian SymesKeymaster Ah, I see now. June 29, 2010 at 9:11 pm #110062 Seb PatrickKeymaster I wondered if it was simply a matter of Ian being too young to remember floppy disks; but even then, you probably wouldn’t fit the video on one ;-) June 29, 2010 at 9:13 pm #110063 Ben PaddonParticipant “Video” is probably a generous way of saying “animated IFF what we made in DeluxePaint IV.” June 29, 2010 at 9:42 pm #110064 Danny StephensonKeymaster You could create awesome animations in Deluxe Paint. Especially with the ‘Spirograph’ tool June 30, 2010 at 6:56 am #110065 Pete Part ThreeParticipant The spelling of Disk was surely the clue. July 2, 2010 at 2:41 pm #110074 Seb PatrickKeymaster So, it’s all kicked off with Leigh Alexander, then, eh? July 3, 2010 at 5:19 am #110078 Ben PaddonParticipant Ooh, she doesn’t like me. Nor do any of her White Knight followers who think they’re defending their lady’s honour. Apparently I’m brilliant but I’m not allowed to pick on girls. Only bad boys pick on girls, our mam said. July 4, 2010 at 2:41 pm #110102 Seb PatrickKeymaster Well, possibly. Either way, since she’s a friend of a friend, I’m refraining from any sort of comment ;-) July 4, 2010 at 5:49 pm #110103 Ben PaddonParticipant Blimey. Small world, innit?
