    And they’re lovely!

We’ve been doing some VERY GERMAN stuff today, in fact the stuff is so incredibly German that I don’t usually do it, ever, under any circumstances, but it was so much fun! And they seem to love German telly!

I can’t seem to shift the mental image of John Hoare in lederhosen.

    Or gingham. Phwoar!

EDIT- Ok, bit of research later and apparently Gingham isn’t actually of German origin*. Still a scary image.

*The name is thought to be either of Indonesian or Italian origin. In short people don’t know but apparently it was imported into England in the 17th century!) It makes me think of Heidi anyway for some reason.

When Michelle and I stayed at John and Tanya’s, we never actually saw John. He was there when we dropped our stuff off and went away for a week, but not when we got back.

    I suspect foul play.

John was a bit embarrassed about not seeing you, Ben, but he was feeling a bit rubbish, so it would have literally been ‘Hi!’-‘Bye!’.

German breakfasts are ace, along with Marleen, Vincent, their flat, and Berlin.

Ah, he doesn’t need to be embarrassed really. I might be popping into England again in September to visit my Mum just after her birthday. Maybe the three of us (or more, if anyone else feels like joining in) could get together for a drink or something.
