No dialogue yet, just a bit of artwork from the first half of the story. I’m hoping to have it all complete and posted before the end of Dec. Maybe. Anyway, in the meantime, have a goosey… — “Songs In The Key Of Files” – what happens when one man’s guitar playing and one hologram’s dirty little secrets collide… Creator Topic Viewing 39 replies - 1 through 39 (of 39 total) Author Replies November 27, 2009 at 3:07 am #106599 JonsmadParticipant Nice. November 27, 2009 at 4:15 am #106602 Ben PaddonParticipant I’m certainly pleased with it. Kris has been sending me previews (with the dialogue included) and I’m very happy with the way it all looks. Although I’ve been writing Jump Leads for nearly three years now I’ve never once tried to write a comic script. Jump Leads is written in screenplay format and then the scenes are blocked, if you like, by JjAR. For this, Kris asked me to write in a more traditional comic script format. He was incredibly helpful with the formatting, as well as tightening up the script and coming up with a belter of an ending. He also helped trim the dialogue to make it fit the comic format better. One of my favourite character moments got lost in the cut, but the story flows all the better for it. I can’t wait to see it all finished! November 27, 2009 at 6:35 am #106605 genericnerdyusernameParticipant Spiffing! November 27, 2009 at 7:00 am #106608 redhead85Participant Ooooh. Looking forward to seeing the complete comic! November 27, 2009 at 9:14 am #106614 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Oh I’m liking that….Rimmer looks angry though, doesn’t he! November 27, 2009 at 10:10 am #106617 TheLeenParticipant I love it so far! November 27, 2009 at 12:16 pm #106625 DaveParticipant It looks fantastic. November 27, 2009 at 1:35 pm #106626 Seb PatrickKeymaster You said you didn’t draw when I asked you, Kris! Looking good, though. Nice simplistic designs, which I think are important for something like this. Like the framing in that shot of the Dwarf, as well. November 27, 2009 at 2:54 pm #106631 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Holly does look like Rimmers dad though….same nose. November 27, 2009 at 2:59 pm #106632 Pete Part ThreeParticipant I was wondering whether that was actually Holly. He seems to have a bit too much hair (and grey hair at that) to be Holly. Looks great though. Love the Rimmer character design. November 27, 2009 at 4:28 pm #106637 Kris CarterParticipant Yeah, that’s Hol. Look at the nose! :) November 27, 2009 at 5:58 pm #106640 hummingbirdParticipant Loving it. November 27, 2009 at 8:07 pm #106645 Paul MullerParticipant Looks really cool, intrigued to see the final result. November 28, 2009 at 1:57 am #106656 CarlitoParticipant Looking good. Nice! Holly does look like Archie Mitchell, though. Only sayin’. November 28, 2009 at 6:50 am #106662 Ben PaddonParticipant The pictures are great, but the words are great too. Honest! November 29, 2009 at 6:19 pm #106694 Tarka DalParticipant I agree with Seb, the clean look gives this real appeal. Speaking of RD comic stuff, Si you should show off your unfinished Tom Baker panels because it really is great. December 9, 2009 at 3:00 pm #106879 DaveParticipant >Holly does look like Archie Mitchell, though. Only sayin?. I was about to write that Norm with grey hair and that much hair looks a bit like Gavin’s Dad from Gavin & Stacey. I don’t watch EastEnders, but now I’m assuming it’s the same actor. December 9, 2009 at 4:50 pm #106885 ori-STUDFARMParticipant It is the same actor….erm, shit! Now they all know that I know…. December 10, 2009 at 4:52 am #106918 Seb PatrickKeymaster If only there existed some kind of online resource where we could check which actors appear in which TV shows without having to have watched them. A sort of… Internet Database, if you will. December 10, 2009 at 8:19 am #106920 Ben PaddonParticipant Dammit Seb, your hypotheticals and conjectures are no use to us now! What we need is facts! December 10, 2009 at 9:27 am #106921 DaveParticipant >If only there existed some kind of online resource where we could check which actors appear in which TV shows without having to have watched them. A sort of? Internet Database, if you will. If only I weren’t at work where such things were blocked. No Hotmail, no facebook, no YouTube, No IMDb. G & T available for all though. December 10, 2009 at 9:33 am #106922 redhead85Participant > If only I weren?t at work where such things were blocked. No Hotmail, no facebook, no YouTube, No IMDb. G & T available for all though. Luckily I’m not blocked – yes Larry Lamb plays both Archie Mitchell in Eastenders and Mick in Gavin & Stacey December 10, 2009 at 4:32 pm #106928 ori-STUDFARMParticipant But not Holly? December 10, 2009 at 4:33 pm #106929 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Not yet anyways! December 10, 2009 at 6:05 pm #106930 Jonathan CappsKeymaster You know, talking to yourself is the first sign of being Carl. December 10, 2009 at 9:29 pm #106932 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Whats the second sign? December 10, 2009 at 9:36 pm #106933 Ben PaddonParticipant Asking what the second sign is. December 10, 2009 at 9:41 pm #106934 DaveParticipant >Whats the second sign? Also being in Gavin & Stacey December 10, 2009 at 11:50 pm #106935 CarlitoParticipant My episode was on tonight and they cut my dancing with Rob Brydon out :( I’m barely visible in the background. Bastards! On a PURELY coincidental note, after a pretty poor first two episodes in this series, tonight’s was actually quite good I thought. December 11, 2009 at 7:21 pm #106947 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Yeah, well you’re bias!! And I don’t mean that you sleep with both men and women!! December 11, 2009 at 9:16 pm #106954 CarlitoParticipant *Biased :P December 11, 2009 at 9:33 pm #106955 ori-STUDFARMParticipant Then the bi joke doesn’t work as well….(thats my excuse and I’m sticking to it!) May 4, 2010 at 4:45 am #109642 Ben PaddonParticipant It’s nearly finished, or so I’m told. Can’t wait to see the finished article. Re-reading the script now, a year later, there are some jokes I’d change (there’s a Cat line on page one that really rubs me the wrong way now) but I’m still excited! May 4, 2010 at 7:04 am #109645 Kris CarterParticipant We can change that line Ben, make it better, stronger. We have the technology. Nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nuh…… May 4, 2010 at 4:37 pm #109655 Ben PaddonParticipant Your Nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nu-nuhs could be louder. May 5, 2010 at 6:15 am #109666 redhead85Participant Looking forward to it boys May 8, 2010 at 9:14 pm #109682 Kris CarterParticipant It’s not finished…. … it’s finished. Just waiting for Ben to look over it, and then I’ll post it. Phew! May 8, 2010 at 11:11 pm #109683 DessieParticipant I seriously can’t wait to read this. May 9, 2010 at 9:42 pm #109696 Kris CarterParticipant Okay, full comic now posted in this thread.
