There’d have been no Red Dwarf without him, simple as that, and his interview for Launching Red Dwarf on the Series 1 DVD is one of the best things ever. Letting out a sob they could hear in Carlisle at this news, before getting myself a brandy to toast the great man. RIP. February 6, 2026 at 5:48 pm #316388 DaveParticipant Sad to hear. RIP. I would’ve loved to have had my ear talked off by this man. February 6, 2026 at 11:56 pm #316413 RunawayTrainParticipant Oh that’s sad news. What a guy. FletcherParticipant I have a friend who once told me that Peter was his teacher in college. I remember my friend saying “Oh I could tell you many stories about him. Quite a character and always camp as ever!” Paraphrasing a bit, but I remember him using that phrase to describe him. He said that with affection and a laugh, and I remember him saying that he and the other students loved him. So going from that, the talking heads bits in the docco, and Chris Barrie’s impression of him in one of the commentaries, he sounds like a legend.
