Red Dwarf Slowly Leaving U (UKTV Play)

Just like Series 11 and 12 The Promised Land (and extras) has also now left U and Back To Earth hasn’t been avalible for years. Now only 78.4% of Red Dwarf is streaming on U compared to last year’s 95.9%. The BBC iPlayer is now the far superior streamer for the rouge one. U also removed the Red Dwarf 2020 documentary “The First 3 Million years“. Do you think this means UKTV have completely lost interest in making any future Red Dwarf as they aren’t bothering to renew their streaming rights?

I used the U streaming service to watch “Future Echoes” last night.

They played the entire tape as issued to broadcasters. 60 seconds of the “vertical colour bars” test pattern, then the 30-second countdown clock, then the programme itself.

Unfortunately, the subtitles started playing immediately (during the test pattern). This meant that the subtitles were – quite literally – “future echoes” themselves.
