I can kind of get the logic that Twitter has become a much more horrible place to be, and therefore he would prefer to only be active on an account which has less expectation to reply to people on… but surely he could just restrict his content to one way updates on his personal account too?

Given this book he’s funding has nothing to do with Red Dwarf (so his personal account with way more followers would be better for promoting that), I don’t think that explains this at all.

It’s more like he’s signed a contract which obliges him to run a Kryten parody account for some reason.
