Well, if I had read that first I could have saved myself a few minutes of gullibility…

I just saw ‘schwartzwelder’ and then moved on… I want a commentary with him…

I can’t wait for the DVD release, mainly for the commentaries

I’m glad that Rich Moore will back, he’s a very funny guy in the Simpsons and Futurama commentaries. I just wish that Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein were really doing a commentary. I’d like to hear their opinion on the movie.

Yeah this is total rubbish. However there will be a special edition much like this eventually.

From all the interviews I’ve read, there was enough deleted footage to make another movie. Where’s all THAT on the regular DVD? CON!

    >Spoken Languages : Pig Latin

That’s not completely far-fetched, though…is it? I mean, obviously it is, as it’s false, but it’s at least somewhat believable as a humorous bonus feature. Ditto the Futurama alien subtitles.

I’ll be honest and say that as false as some of those features clearly are, removing the overtly-ridiculous ones still leaves you with a damn fine set.

Also, it’s pretty funny the way those listed deleted scenes synch up in at least some way with what we already known was cut from the film. I’m still not convinced they’re all fabrications!

    >I just wish that Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein were really doing a commentary.

I love Weinstein. I only own two Simpsons sets, but he’s a definite highlight of the season eight commentaries.

That site is funnier than anything on The Simpsons in the last ten years.

The ‘dink’ subtitles on Spaceballs, I thought was just as ridiculous, but they turned out to be genuine as well!

Absolutely – there’s stuff on there that looked potentially very cool. No matter how fake.

I got stuck, as you might expect, by the disc space issue. Six parallel versions of a 90 minute movie…well, that’s three discs already. (I know it says seven, but even Blade Runner ain’t getting that many.)

Yeah I agree. He’s got such a great laugh too. I really enjoyed the commentaries with Oakley & Weinstein where they go into such detail for the plans they had while they were running the show. I was a bit bothered that Bill Oakley wasn’t on a LOT of the Season 8 commentaries but it was nice to hear Weinstein on his own and really making an effort in the commentaries.

Well, the Simpson’s has been dismal for the past 5 or so years, it had it’s golden age back in 1990’s. It’s dragged on now like an old lame horse than needs to be put down to save it a miserable death. The movie should have been out a decade ago. Such a shame to see an ok comedy go on to become a mindless parody. But alas, that’s what america does best. Some flashy extras aren’t going to pull me in. The Simpson’s has never been that side splitting to begin with, it’s been an alright comedy that got worse and worse, until it became boring. There are far, far better comedies out there to get on dvd, quality for money as well.

I agree that the Simpsons is awful at the moment. I try to watch new episodes, but there’s just no point any more. But you’re doing the ‘golden age’ a great disservice. At its peak, not only was it one of the funniest animated series of all-time, but one of the funniest sitcoms of all time, full stop.

Oh yeah, you’ll have a difficult time finding many shows that were funnier than The Simpsons in its golden years of seasons 4-7.

Unfortunately, it was a bad sign when I couldn’t be bothered to download new episodes. Worse still was when I couldn’t even be bothered to watch new episodes on Sky One.
