It’s 1 episode too long, the jokes drag out and the whole Coronation Street scene is pointless. I did do a fan-edit to fix these things, but it just makes the official version look crap by comparison. March 10, 2017 at 3:57 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219432 Wilhelm screamParticipant I’m also thinking off adding a post-credit scene of Rimmer returning to Red Dwarf. March 9, 2017 at 10:29 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219420 Wilhelm screamParticipant When I edit the beginning, I will remove the references to series 8. As for the new ending, here is what I have planned: -New music as we got shots of Red Dwarf (from series X and cropped into a 4:3 aspect ratio). -Shot of Starbug from Trojan approaching Red Dwarf. -Shot of Starbug landing in Red Dwarf (shot from either Angels and Demons or clean model shots from the DVD’s, not sure which one, but I’m pretty sure it’s there). -End credits And I have to create a new ending becasue series 7 ends on a cliffhanger, with Red Dwarf constantly changing size. March 8, 2017 at 1:35 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219408 Wilhelm screamParticipant No. Why would you think I am a parody? If you don’t beleieve that I am a fan-editor, then here is my IFDB page: https://ifdb.fanedit.org/thunderbirds-trapped-in-the-sky-international-rescue-edition/ March 8, 2017 at 10:28 am in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219404 Wilhelm screamParticipant That’s why I said maybe. Also, when I do Samsara, I’m going to cut out the flashbacks since they just slow down the pacing of the episode to a standstill. And I’m going to create a new ending to series 7 so that I won’t have to do series 8 since I hate series 8 and I consider it unfixable. March 3, 2017 at 4:09 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219363 Wilhelm screamParticipant That’s not my problem with it. The problem with it is that Kryten knows Lister is a human and he has seen it proved on multiple occasions (in Legion for example, Lister had his appendix removed it again, somehow, but still proves he’s a human), so there is no reason why Kryten would automatically believe that Lister is an android. March 2, 2017 at 10:47 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219360 Wilhelm screamParticipant Since I noticed a couple of you were talking about Tikka to Ride, and that got me thinking for an Out of Time edit, something like this: -Open episode with inital distress call from Tikka before he mentions what happend last time- before going to title sequence. -Cut out the crap with Lister being an android since it makes ZERO sense. -Maybe add some of the deleted scenes (I will have to purchase the DVD’s first, I have only seen the episodes on Dave so far). -Cut the ‘To be continued’ so we cut from the explosion to the rest of Lister’s distress call before the camera blows up, Kryten complains about it before Lister makes a second distress call before going to closing credits. What do you guys think? February 21, 2017 at 4:08 pm in reply to: Red Dwarf fan-edits #219297 Wilhelm screamParticipant Don’t worry, when I start doing fan-edits of Red Dwarf again, I will keep the episodes in the original aspect ratio they were filmed in.
