    Gotta say I love your podcasts, must have listened to them all multiple times while travelling, washing up, exercising, and while in the bath (sexy hey). Amazingly though I’ve never actually listened to the commentaries while watching the episodes, I really should try it. Though I know them so well I don’t think it matters too much, I’m sure I’m not the only one.

    Anyway, I don’t want to kiss your asses too much so let’s get down to moaning and calling you cunts.

    The silver survey and following podcasts was great and very interesting, a subject that could be talked about for hours and hours. However I was looking forward to hearing you discuss the bottom section more than you did. I know you wanted to focus on the positives and that is to be applauded, but at the same time it’s very enjoyable hearing you talk about the more controversial points in RDs history. For example, Tikka and Krytie TV have to be two of the most enjoyable podcasts because of this even though I fall firmly in the anti VII and VIII camp.

    So, what are the chances of more podcasts about these episodes and related debates? Maybe, a remastered dwarf cast…

    Do you know if Doug listens? Have you or Seb ever asked him if he’d take part in one? Would be really nice to hear him talk about some of the “touchy” subjects that us hardcore fans like to debate rather than the normal mainstream interviews questions. How about Rob?

    Hello, and thanks very much for all the praise!

    We’re always careful about the balance of praise and criticism in the Dwarfcasts, especially as I think we tend to lean towards the negative aspects even of things that we like, as that’s often the most interesting area of debate. But you’re right, we haven’t tackled a duff episode commentary for a while. I think that’s down to the fact that it’s fairly rare that we all get together, and when we do we don’t want to depress ourselves by watching something we don’t like! But yeah, we are due one.

    We did interview Doug (very briefly) for a Dwarfcast at the Red Dwarf X premiere, plus there’s written interviews of the type you describe in the site’s archives. We do try to get special guests every now and then, but we usually have to make do with Pecos Pete.

    I’m amused that in my last round of commentaries, we spent the entire duration of Back to Reality discussing basically nothing but minor nitpicky quibbles.

    The Series X Semi-Retrospective is the clearest example of it – there’s so many things I love about X, but I’d said all of them in the instant reactions, so all I had left was the little nagging doubts and nitpicks that had crept in during the intervening weeks.

    I’d really like a Back In The Red Dwarf Cast because, like Tikka, it’s one of the later episodes I’m most conflicted about. There’s genuine laughs in the first part and then the whole thing gets bogged down and weak as it goes on. But even by part 3 there are still funny lines here and there.

    The Tikka, Can’t Smeg Won’t Smeg and The End Original Assembly are my personal favourite Casts but yeah no I like them all. Just The Interviews was quality as well.

    Bodysnatcher, Universe Challenge… These Dwarf Casts could run and run.

    If you haven’t heard the Dirty Feed Bodysnatcher cast you must. It is splendissimo.
